I was teaching down in Morecambe to start the month – which also involved a trip to my FAVOURITEST IN THE WORLD vegan cafe, the Old Hardware Shop in Woolton. Hence, the photo of the amazing cheesecake. PHWOAH.
I didn’t do many “lockdown projects” but this was one – a new “THANK YOU, POSTIE!”sign after every delivery. Because let’s face it – post is awesome at the best of times but during lockdown was utterly amazing
Plenty going on around the land – mulching (including trialling using cloth under plant matter which, I have to say, is my favourite option so far. It helped that I had a whole bundle of “past usability as pillow cases” pillow cases), spreading compost (we did get some rotted down muck later in the season, but at this point it was pretty much all compost, much of it from my intrepid mowing), planting *more* rose bushes (I didn’t completely clear the garden in Lancaster when I was there in Feb, but as no-one else had claimed them by March I went back for more), building a deer-protection fence for a beautiful rose I’ve put in a *very* exposed spot (only partly successful, alas) and plenty of pottering around
What March would be complete without taking down another few ash stems? Chris does the chainsawing, I do lugging, brash removal and other general usefulness. Jason does staying cosy and warm inside…
Daffodil season is always wonderful – not quite as long this year as other years, but glorious all the same. Various round the house, land and up into the churchyard pictures too. And the pleasingness of clean laundry blowing in the wind. Oh, and my funny bed-made-into-a-desk desk. Which worked surprisingly well for a while but was updated to an actual standing desk later in the year
